The initial brief for a campaign site that featured Airsoft products in Rakuten’s massive online mall, was that it would merely be a grid list of products, targeted at everybody.
As the creative director of the project, I collaborated with the producer to define a narrower audience, the purpose of the page, the language, and visual styling.
Most strategies used for this page were new to Rakuten web pages. The strategy to make the mobile design closely reflect the desktop version was no different. A detailed front-end brief was created in order to get the closest outcome.
The whole challenge was completed in a normal 2 week campaign page creation cycle.
